Become part of the SORET Kenya family — there's a place for every believer.

Membership Categories

SORET has three categories of membership to accommodate believers at every stage.

Student Members

All Christian students from and not limited to South Rift in universities and other institutions of higher learning.

Associate Members

Alumni of various SORET Chapters who, subject to their continued adherence to the aims and objectives of the association, remain members. Also includes spouses of ordinary/associate members and any interested alumnus.

Special Membership

Christians from anywhere in the country who share the same objectives and aims may be offered special membership subject to NASEC approval.

How to Join

Membership is open to anyone fulfilling the following requirements.

  • Born again Christian who confesses their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Subscribe to the statement of faith and objectives as set in the SORET constitution.
  • Be an adult except for student members who may not have attained the age of majority and of sound mind.
  • Regular attendance — have regularly attended the activities of the region or chapter for a period of at least 6 months.
  • Financial support — be willing to support the society's activities financially.
  • Submit membership form — fill in and submit the membership form to the respective secretary.

After these conditions are fulfilled, a person's name will be entered in the members register as final proof of membership. Each member will be provided with a membership card.

Members' Rights & Responsibilities

Ordinary Members' Rights

  • Eligible to vote for leaders of the society.
  • Eligible to hold office.
  • Entitled to request for, give notice of, and vote in any general meeting.
  • Authorized to propose amendments to the constitution subject to the constitutional provision on amendment.
  • Participate in all activities of the Association.

Special Members' Rights

  • Eligible to hold office only as members of the Board of Trustees.
  • May participate in all activities of the Association.

In the exercise of their rights and carrying out of their obligations, members shall be guided by the mission, vision, and objectives of the society.

Transferring Regions?

Any member who because of education, employment or any other appointment changes residence may change from their current Region to another more suitable to their new residence. The membership shall automatically continue.
